Washing your face to reduce acne?

Washing your face with a good antiseptic soap is not a home remedy for
acne. When you wash your face with a good antiseptic soap, the pimples on your face start
looking like less prominent and you might think that the soap is infact treating acne.
But, infact, its not the case. When you wash your face, the sebum (oil) gets washed off and
you start feeling good but within half an hour the oil glands underneath the skin start
producing again and the pimples gets shiny so more prominent. So, washing your face
continually does not help in improving acne. It just makes the face skin dry for some time
and after some time you start feeling acne pimples getting heavy on your face.
Most of the myths, regarding washing face continually improves acne, originates from the fact
that acne is due to the dirt on skin. But basically acne is due to the malfunctioning of oil
glands underneath the skin. So, if you are going to an important meeting or for some
presentationin your college, washing your face will wash the sebum from the face and pimples
start looking like less shiny so less prominent for some time. But keep in mind that washing your face is not a remedy for acne.
One important thing that you should keep in mind while washing your face is that never dry
your face with a hard towel. Use a soft towel and gentally pet your face with the towel to
dry it after washing your face. Rubbig your face with a harsh towel might take off all sebum
off your skin and you might feel your acne pimples less prominent for a longer period of
time but, in the long run, it will go against you. Rubbing your skin hardly with towel will
make your acne worse.
